Mumbai–Tata Global Beverages posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 119.52 crore for the April-June quarter 2016-17 compared to Rs 78.66 crore during the corresponding quarter in 2015-16, a regulatory filing by the company said here on Tuesday.

The consolidated net profit for the first quarter went up by 51.94 per cent.

The total income of the company during the period under review has increased from Rs 1,685.25 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 1,755.25 crore during the quarter ended June 30, 2016.

“We have recorded steady growth in a challenging market environment. We continue to strengthen our brands and grow them, based on strong consumer insights while maintaining focus on operational efficiencies. Our focus on the health and wellness trend will continue, we see this as a key opportunity for our products worldwide,” said Ajoy Misra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Global Beverages. (IANS)
