New Delhi– Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) on Tuesday reported a 33 per cent rise in its stand alone net profit to Rs 1,801.77 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs. 1,355.64 crore in the year-ago period.
Its total income from operations increased for the quarter under review to Rs. 6,119.86 crore, up 31 per cent from Rs. 4,689.88 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The public sector company’s transmission revenue grew about 30 per cent to Rs 5,950.88 crore in the quarter as against Rs 4,579.09 crore earlier.
The company’s income from consultancy stood at Rs 121.56 crore in the April-June period as against Rs 89.98 crore in the same quarter last year.
Income from the telecom business was at Rs 122.48 crore in the first quarter as compared to Rs 97.68 crore in the year-ago period.
