Srinagar–Armed robbers struck again in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, looting cash from two banks.
Unidentified gunmen entered the Wahibug village branch of Ellaquai Dehati Bank (Regional Rural Bank) in Pulwama and looted Rs 4.92 lakh at gunpoint, police said.
The second robbery took place in the district when gunmen forced an entry into the Nehama branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Kakapora area.
“Armed robbers have looted cash from Nehama village branch of the J&K Bank in Pulwama district. The exact amount looted by the robbers is being ascertained”, police said.
On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen looted Rs 65,000 from a branch of Ellaquai Dehati Bank in Kulgam district.
On Monday, militants killed seven people, including five policemen and two bank guards, when they attacked a cash van in Kulgam district.
