New Delhi—Hyundai Motor India said Monday that electric vehicle owners can now access more than 30,000 charging points nationwide through its myHyundai app, creating one of the country’s largest integrated EV charging networks available through a single platform.
The service was developed with charging-point operators and other service providers and is available to EV owners across all automobile brands.
Through the app, drivers can locate nearby charging stations, navigate to them, reserve charging slots and make digital payments using a unified interface.
Hyundai said the network provides access to charging facilities within an average radius of 25 kilometers across India. It also covers major highway corridors, including Delhi-Gurugram-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Goa, Chennai-Vellore-Bengaluru and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru.
“Through the integration of over 30,000 charging points on the myHyundai app, we are empowering EV users with one of India’s largest charging networks accessible through a single platform,” Hyundai Motor India Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said.
“Importantly, the platform is open to EV owners across brands, reinforcing HMIL’s commitment to developing India’s broader EV ecosystem,” he added.
The automaker also plans to expand its proprietary public DC fast-charging network from 183 stations to 600 by 2030.
Hyundai said its charging infrastructure has supported more than 300,000 charging sessions and supplied over 5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. The company estimated that use of its stations has prevented about 3.5 million kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions.
Hyundai is also preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup with the launch of a mass-market electric SUV during the current fiscal year. (Source: IANS)
