JAIPUR– Rajasthan will soon host its first electric bus manufacturing facility in the Ghiloth Industrial Area of Neemrana tehsil, Kotputli-Behror district, marking a major step toward sustainable transportation and industrial growth in the state.
The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) has swiftly allocated 265,329 square meters (65.56 acres) of land for the project under a memorandum of understanding signed at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will invest approximately Rs 1,200 crore to establish the state-of-the-art facility. In addition to assembling electric buses, the plant will produce bus bodies, electric motors, batteries, wire harnesses, and other core components.
A delegation from PMI Electro Mobility Solutions met Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday and thanked the state government for its rapid support and efficient land allocation.
Chief Minister Sharma said the project represents a significant stride in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Make in India” vision and will help position Rajasthan as a leading hub for electric vehicle manufacturing in the country.
“This initiative will create numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities for the state’s youth, who will also receive training in the emerging field of electromobility,” Sharma said. “It will also strengthen our commitment to green energy, sustainable transport, and a cleaner environment.”
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the new facility will usher in a new era of green industrialization and sustainable mobility in Rajasthan. The plant, they said, will play a crucial role in supplying affordable e-buses nationwide and will promote environmental protection, renewable energy, and technical skill development in the region.
“This project will give Rajasthan a new identity in the field of green transportation,” Sharma added, noting that the state aims to become a national leader in the e-mobility sector.
Officials said the plant will boost the local economy, open up training opportunities in electromobility, and mark a historic step toward reducing pollution and supporting sustainable urban development across Rajasthan. (Source: IANS)
