New Delhi–Samsung Electronics unveiled its latest foldable smartphone lineup Wednesday, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 with slimmer designs, new form factors and expanded Galaxy AI capabilities.
The South Korean technology company described the new Galaxy Z series as its most comprehensive foldable lineup to date, with three devices aimed at users seeking productivity, content creation, entertainment and personalization features.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a redesigned foldable form intended to provide smoother transitions between quick interactions on the cover display and longer sessions on the larger inner screen.
Samsung said the device was designed to improve activities such as reading, gaming and video streaming while making it easier for users to switch between the two displays.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings Samsung’s Ultra smartphone experience to the foldable category. It offers a larger workspace intended for multitasking, professional productivity and content creation.
The Galaxy Z Flip8, meanwhile, is the slimmest device in Samsung’s Flip series and includes an AI-powered FlexWindow that provides quicker access to information and frequently used functions.
Artificial intelligence is a central part of the new lineup, with Galaxy AI features optimized for the design and screen configuration of each device.
Samsung said the technology is intended to make interactions more intuitive, improve multitasking on the Fold8 models and provide faster access to relevant information through the Flip8’s external display.
The smartphones also incorporate AI services from Samsung’s partners, including Gemini Intelligence, to help users complete tasks more efficiently while preserving transparency, privacy and user control.
“As AI becomes more agentic, mobile devices will become the most personal entry point to experiences that understand and adapt to each user,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of the Device eXperience Division at Samsung Electronics.
“By setting a new standard for foldables, we are once again advancing the premium mobile experience and opening the next era of intelligence to more people,” Roh added. (Source: IANS)
