New Delhi– The government on Thursday said that its investigations have disclosed that 63 pilots of budget passenger carrier SpiceJet were found to have
violated the flight and duty time limitations (FDTL) norm.
According to the Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, pilots were found to have operated flights beyond their maximum flying hours permitted by the aviation regulator.
“During surveillance and subsequent scrutiny of records it has been revealed that 63 pilots of M/s Spicejet had operated flights exceeding flight duty period as laid
down in Civil Aviation Requirements,” Sinha said in a written reply during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha.
“Pilots who have exceeded flight duty period more than once have been suspended for the period of 15 days. The warnings have been issued to the pilots who have exceeded flight duty period only once.”
