Hyderabad— Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led a high-level delegation at the Osaka World Expo in Japan on Monday, making a strong pitch for foreign investment across multiple sectors in the state.
Addressing a gathering of top business leaders in Osaka, Reddy highlighted Telangana’s potential in sectors such as urban infrastructure, the circular economy, environmental restoration, AI and futuristic technologies, pharmaceuticals, bulk drugs, green energy, tourism, agriculture, textiles, and smart city development.
“This is a proud moment for Telangana—we are the first Indian state to participate in the Osaka Expo,” Reddy said. “We aim to transform historical ties into long-term partnerships that empower people, drive innovation, and shape the future.”
Emphasizing Telangana’s business-friendly environment, Reddy invited Japanese firms to consider Hyderabad as a launchpad for both the Indian and global markets. “Our state offers policy stability, streamlined regulatory frameworks, and world-class infrastructure. Japanese companies are already thriving in Telangana—we welcome many more to join us,” he added.
Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu reinforced the state’s commitment to investors, highlighting features such as single-window clearances and customized incentives. “Hyderabad is already a global hub for IT and life sciences, and we’re rapidly expanding into aerospace, defense, electronics, and textiles,” he said.
He also unveiled the state’s ambitious Future City project—a 30,000-acre, net-zero industrial city designed for clean energy, smart mobility, and circular economy principles. The government is collaborating with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation to develop a flagship industrial park within this zone.
Sridhar Babu also outlined key infrastructure initiatives, including the 370-km Regional Ring Road (RRR) and connecting radial roads that will support major manufacturing zones. The corridor between the RRR and the Outer Ring Road (ORR) is being developed as a dedicated hub for EVs, energy storage, semiconductors, and aerospace.
“To boost exports, we’re establishing a dry port connected by a dedicated road and rail link to the nearest seaport,” the minister added.
The Telangana delegation’s presence at the Osaka Expo underscores the state’s strategic push to attract global investment and solidify its status as one of India’s most dynamic economic engines. (Source: IANS)
