Akshay Kumar Highlights Relentless Pressure on Police Officers
MUMBAI, India — Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has drawn attention to the intense workload and often overlooked sacrifices of police officers, calling their profession a largely thankless one.
Speaking during a special episode of his television game show, Kumar interacted with serving officers from Uttar Pradesh Police and the Mumbai Police, prompting him to reflect on the realities of life in uniform. He noted that a single police officer is often responsible for hundreds of citizens, creating immense pressure that the public rarely sees.
Kumar said officers routinely work 16 to 18 hours a day, often going weeks or months without a day off. He added that while the rest of society celebrates festivals and holidays, police personnel remain on duty to ensure public safety.
He also emphasized the toll this takes on officers’ families, who sacrifice time with loved ones because of the demands of the job. Kumar concluded by reminding viewers that it is due to these sacrifices that citizens are able to live and sleep peacefully.
The episode aired as part of the ongoing run of the game show on Sony Television and Sony LIV.
