LAS VEGAS– Samsung Electronics said it plans to apply artificial intelligence across its entire product lineup as part of its vision to become an “AI companion” embedded in users’ everyday lives.
Speaking at a company event in Las Vegas ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show 2026, Samsung Electronics President Roh Tae-moon said the company aims to deliver meaningful AI-powered experiences by integrating the technology across all products and services.
Roh said Samsung intends to position itself as an AI companion that supports customers in their daily routines, adding that the company will lead the broader adoption of AI-driven experiences. Roh heads Samsung’s device experience division, which oversees its mobile, television, and home appliance businesses.
As part of this strategy, Samsung unveiled its Vision AI Companion, an AI platform designed for Samsung televisions. The platform is intended to better understand conversational context and user intent compared with existing models.
Samsung said its television lineup scheduled for release in 2026 will support the HDR10 Plus Advanced format, which the company said will deliver enhanced brightness, color accuracy, and motion processing.
The company also outlined its “home companion” vision, aimed at easing household chores through home appliances equipped with advanced screens, cameras, and voice-recognition capabilities. Kim Cheol-gi, who heads Samsung’s digital appliances business, said the company’s connected ecosystem and optimized form factors will enable more seamless communication between devices and users.
Samsung said it will also integrate AI more deeply into SmartThings, its smart home platform, allowing connected appliances to interact with one another and better anticipate user needs.
During the event, the company said it plans to expand AI use in its health-focused applications to offer more personalized wellness support. Samsung said its health platform will analyze data related to sleep, nutrition, and daily activity to identify potential early indicators of chronic conditions.
The company said the application will also provide workout guidance and recommend recipes based on ingredients available in connected refrigerators. In addition, Samsung introduced technology that analyzes walking speed and finger movement to help detect potential cognitive decline.
Roh said Samsung’s broader AI strategy is focused on making everyday life more valuable for users, adding that the company aims to expand its AI ecosystem while adhering to responsible and ethical standards as it positions itself as a daily-life AI companion. (Source: IANS)
