AHMEDABAD– Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) reported a 24% increase in consolidated revenue to Rs 11,340 crore for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, driven by growth across its domestic and international ports, logistics and marine operations.
The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 23% year-over-year to Rs 6,807 crore during the July-September quarter, according to its financial results released Wednesday.
Domestic ports remained the largest contributor to the company’s earnings, recording a 13% increase in revenue while maintaining an EBITDA margin of 72.5%.
International port operations posted particularly strong growth, with revenue climbing 71% from a year earlier. EBITDA from the international business increased 3.4 times, while its operating margin reached a record 47.7%.
The company’s logistics division reported a 21% increase in revenue, supported by the expansion of its integrated transportation and distribution network connecting ports with inland destinations.
Revenue from the marine business rose 57% year-over-year, reflecting the expansion of the company’s global fleet and its entry into subsea services.
Ashwani Gupta, whole-time director and chief executive officer of APSEZ, attributed the performance to the company’s expanding operations across multiple business segments and its focus on maintaining financial discipline.
“APSEZ’s ability to execute at scale with financial prudence enables us to pursue ambitious growth while leveraging balance-sheet strength and compounding cash flows,” Gupta noted.
“Against this backdrop, Q2FY27 was another stellar quarter. Domestic Ports continue to anchor our earnings, while International Ports, Logistics and Marine are emerging as powerful growth engines. Reflecting strong H1 performance, we are upgrading our FY27 guidance across revenue, EBITDA and capex,” he added.
Following its performance during the first half of the financial year, APSEZ raised its revenue, operating earnings and capital expenditure forecasts for fiscal 2027.
The company increased its full-year revenue guidance by Rs 1,000 crore to a range of Rs 44,000 crore to Rs 46,000 crore.
Its EBITDA forecast was also raised by Rs 1,000 crore to a range of Rs 26,000 crore to Rs 27,000 crore.
APSEZ increased its planned capital expenditure by Rs 3,000 crore, bringing its fiscal 2027 investment target to between Rs 15,000 crore and Rs 17,000 crore. The additional spending is intended to support the company’s longer-term expansion objectives under its Ambition 2031 strategy.
Despite the higher investment commitments, APSEZ said its financial position remained stable.
Operating cash flow totaled Rs 13,327 crore during the first six months of fiscal 2027, helping finance investments of Rs 10,521 crore over the same period.
The company maintained a net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 1.8 times, even after cumulative capital expenditure of Rs 30,346 crore over the previous two years.
The results reflect the company’s increasing reliance on international ports, logistics and marine services as additional sources of growth, alongside its established domestic port operations. (Source: IANS)
