MUMBAI, India — LG Electronics India reported an 8% year-over-year decline in net profit for the March quarter, even as revenue rose on stronger demand and premium product sales.

The company posted net profit of Rs 693 crore for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, down from Rs 755 crore in the same period a year earlier, according to a stock exchange filing. Profit after tax, however, rose sharply from Rs 90 crore in the December quarter.

Revenue from operations increased 8% year over year to Rs 8,054 crore, compared with Rs 7,448 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025. Sequentially, revenue nearly doubled from Rs 4,114 crore in the previous quarter.

LG Electronics India said the quarter benefited from broad demand recovery and continued premiumisation across product categories, including large-panel televisions, French-door refrigerators, fully automatic washing machines and 5-star-rated air conditioners.

The company said it maintained leadership across key product segments and recorded an EBITDA margin of 11.7%, its best quarterly performance to date. It said margins were affected on a year-over-year basis by rupee depreciation and higher commodity costs, but added that it expects improvement ahead.

For fiscal 2026, LG Electronics India reported revenue from operations of Rs 24,605 crore, up 1% from the previous year.

Hong Ju Jeon, managing director of LG Electronics India, said the company delivered its highest quarterly revenue despite a difficult global environment.

He said LG remains focused on customer-centric innovation, premiumisation and measured growth as it navigates macroeconomic uncertainty.

Jeon added that the company’s “Make-in-India, Make-for-India and Make-India-Global” strategy continues to guide its expansion. LG’s new Essential Series range is expected to be exported to 22 countries during fiscal 2027. (Source: IANS)
